The Caprice is not the best car ever made. Not even the best 90s V8 GM luxobarge. The Aurora is. Obviously

Kinja'd!!!

Look at all that LUXURY. LOOK AT IT. It’s got a driver centred dash, EXACTLY like a Supra.

Not to mention it looks kinda like an EV1 from the rear three quarter angle.

Kinja'd!!!

My only gripe is that it was an Olds. It would have worked a lot better as a flagship Saturn to slot above both the L and S series.

...and how much can you tow with it? Can it fit a 4x8 piece of plywood in with the hatch closed? Does it even have a hatch? Can you light up the rear tires? Rear facing rear seats? Posi rear?

Your opinion is invalid because I say so.

I somewhat agree unironically, even though I might prefer the ‘91 Caprice LTZ a tiny bit more. Both cars are amazing, thats why I bought an Aurora, and still want a Caprice as well!

One of my mother's friends had one of these in the late 90's/early 00's. Even as a lad I loved that unnecessarily large taillight.

10/10 yes. Owned both gens. First is better by far and Oldsmobile absolutely should have been its brand.

right behind the STS.... Shortstar powered mid size sedan is 2nd best GM luxobarge of the 90's.

First car was an Aurora, was an awesome car, blew the trans out at 85k because teenage boy + v8 + Fwd = transmission abuse.

Fitting basically anything in the trunk of these was almost laughable, especially if you had the Bose sound system where the sub and amp took up a good %25 of the already small trunk.

Fun fact, only the outsides lit up, the entire center section was just reflectors.

“Shortstar powered”

That was only the base model 2nd gen. The first gen and more plush 2nd gens got the 4L Aurora V8.

Out of all the big American barges out there, I like the 1st gen Aurora (and Lincoln Mark VIII). Even if it’s a plastic boat underneath, it’s still a luxurious car with a V8. It even pulls off a grille-less look better than a Tesla imo.

And here I thought the 1996 Toyota Camry was the finest car ever made. But now I know that I was wrong.
